Jason Gallagher

Bio: I am interested in the alternate energy project because I feel like our reliance on environmentally hazardous foreign oils are something that should be part of the past. I believe that we have the resources to move on from this crude substance and become a self-reliant country that produces its own fuel source. My role in this group as the leader and visual designer is to set up weekly meeting times and create 3 dimensional models of the apparati we will be creating.

Saurin Shah

Bio: I chose the alternative energy project because I have an interest in cars and their engines. I like the idea of modifying a diesel engine into an energy efficient one in order to create a cleaner and safer environment. This would bring us one step closer to a carbon-free world. My role in the group is materials supervisor. I research the necessary materials that are needed to build this engine, and the cost of these materials. The goal is to find a part that is not only cheap, but is durable and beneficial towards our engine components. The last part of my job is to keep track of the costs of the project.

Bio: From this project, I hope to gain a better understand of the use of alternative fuel sources. While not directly interested in the automotive industry, I feel that discovery of smarter, cleaner and, most importantly, economically viable fuels is crucial to technological advancement. Eugene Brown

Bio: I found this project interesting because I want to pursue a career in designing cars that run off of alternative energy. There are some vehicles that are available now that run on fuels other than gas, but I want to help abandon the auto industry's dependence on oil, along with designing a car stylish enough to appeal to anyone. My role in the group is lab notebook supervisor. I currently record what the group does in the progression of our project to the extent that the notes could be used to duplicate our design.
